The news from Roy Bode, owner of the Llano Buzz that
I would be removed from the paper due to threats of a law suite was very
disappointing to me. Bode has been receiving these calls from attorneys from
the Hospital Board Authority for some time. The Attorney feels that many
of the accusations that I have made in the Llano Buzz in recent months were
lies and mixed with wrong information.
Mr. Bode, in order to avoid a law suite by this attorney has agreed to take me out
of his paper and to write an apology saying my information could not stand the test
of being substantiated.
Mr. Bode did admit to me he did not have the time to read my articles, nor had the Buzz ordered transcripts of the hearings. Thus he knew not what either said. He was taking the word of the Hospital Board Attorney. I love investigative reporting.
The Llano Buzz is Mr. Bodes’. He can do as he wishes with it, and that includes who writes for the paper. I wished him the best, but told him I was disappointed that himself or his staff had not looked into the threats. Maybe, some of the information that could have easily have been substantiated from my articles was in the behavior of those transcripts!
I will post a response to Roy Bode's article by Friday.
