I talked about the Public Information Request from a reporter
at a local paper a week or so ago. This reporter, yes the same one that
informed me she had “saved the Marble Falls Schools” and
now is saving Llano. Her request for public documents has become an embarrassment
to all. Nothing good can come from good intentions when you have someone
ready to take advantage of the system.
That is what is happening now. Request about information that does not
matter anymore. I will repeat…the media threw the spotlight onto
the school financial problems. Now, it is the responsibility of the elected
officials and the reports… auditors and Comptrollers, and AG office
to make things right. If they do nothing more, there is little else to
be done.
The request from this one person has cost LISD in hours, and legal opinions, (now required) and paper has gone over $1800. Over 4000 pages. I bet you will sleep better knowing she is watching over your schools tonight.
Administration will be asking the School Board to implement new policy so that “media” does not get info for free. I pay for it. You pay for it. Media should pay their part. The schools needs to make everyone pay the same. The school needs to pass the new policy…why? Because someone took advantage of the present ruling.
There’s always someone.
Two new school board members will be appointed by a citizen committee that makes recommendations. One will come from Llano, the other from Horseshoe Bay. Those areas elected the members that resigned. Many have thrown their hats into the ring as want to be members appointed. Three are friends…close friends of Patton. This man never quits working the system. I would not mind if they were appointed. Why? Because then they would run again next May. Then the voters would unelect them again. The net-work…worked last May. We elected the right people last May. We…the people in Llano County will do it again.
Patton’s hearing is coming up. Two months ago I said…someone will not show up for the hearing. Hid and watch. Prediction: Patton will not be there. Why? Bigger fish to fry just over the hill. As soon as I know for sure, and can tell you….read it here.
Patton’s problems with his “ hearing
and termination status” will soon be very small potatoes. Very small.
So many of you just knew the school board would settle with Patton. You never
heard
it from here. The trial balloons floated were just that, and nothing more to
them than that. People that read more into those conversations were wrong.
Clue: Both old school board members and Patton were afraid of the same things.
If
they asked the question, they would not know the response. Neither….could
take that risk.
